Alas, I have a Troy Bilt TB10CS whose lower end isn't held on by any bolts. The cable must be twisted off right down at the head, which appears to be held on by one of those cursed one-way lock washers with the grippers that let you push it on, but prevent you from ever removing it short of destroying it. I was able to pull the liner out from the top end about 6 inches, but it will come no farther. Suggestions?

You have weaken the steel electrode with that much HEAT. Possibly break off into cylinder while running.

Do not run cheap 2 cycle oil in a Stihl!

Nice to assume that you'll have a blowtorch in the field.

If you're out in the field and have a blow torch in your wagon then this is the only way to clean without damaging the plug, nice video 👍 how many tree surgeons carry a sand blaster to work just in case they n ed to clean a plug? And what if you have a brand new plug and drop it causing damage to the plug? All that's needed is to have a blow torch handy...

Yeah, not sure why you thought you'd get by with just a solenoid cleaning. If the solenoid is that bad then you gotta assume the jets and the needle is just as bad.

If you’re trying to get something running fine otherwise just put a new one in. You already got the old one out. And it’s not like your cleaning plugs every week. If you are you got other issues

I did replace carburetor. Month later still leaks. Today it got worse. Has been leaking for years now just not this much. In search of new trimmer and Unbelievable none are reliable today based on reviews. Oh, I recall new Honda trimmer leaked the first time i used it. Within seconds and it went back to the store.

Hello sir, a little hint (or is it tip?) on reinstalling the carb: take two 6mm bolts with aprox 9 to 10 cm length (sorry for not calculating them to inches, allready late here) and screw them into the holes of the block. They need to be without heads ofc. I cut mine from a threaded bolt and carved some trenches into them to drive them with a flat screwdriver. Then put all the stuff - isolator, air shield, gaskets, carb, throttle plate and airbox - onto them. Press all of it against the block, remove one of the bolts and insert the original screw instead and tighten it just enough to hold. Repeat with the second bolt and screw the tighten both screws firmly and that's it. Best regards, Thomas

An old mechanic taught me how to throw away a spark plug that looks like that and then disassemble the motor and fix the problems causing the plug to look like that.

Me: 6 mins 50 seconds in wondering why my end was flush with the other end 😅😅 he forgot to tell me I need to cut the other end at least an inch over 😂😂😂

At 4:19, the rubber hose you see I know connects to the bottom of the air filter housing but where is it coming from and is it the crank case vent hose? Mine is putting oil in the carb.

Man Ive need doing this exact crab and engine set up. And I've been trying to figure out why it won't stop surging. I was about to start digging deeper until I watched this video. I noticed you didn't put the gasket between the filter elbow and the carb. So I removed the gasket and put the elbow back on and it worked perfectly!! Thanks man.

Hey GREAT video- a question my FS310 gradually lost compression today!! weird thing is the cam lobe had melted to nothing and with the cam and rockers removed it STILL has no compression!! its not done big hours and it was running perfectly then lost power and revs (and compression!) over a 1 minute period - what could it be. blown valve?

I often don't have fire in the field. But, it's a good idea.

I don't think I would use this method myself. Probably would just use a brass brush and mild solvent to de-goop. Maybe a little heat, but I'd worry that torching it up cherry red would damage the insulator. Any case, plugs are cheap, but I'd be more inclined to find out why it got all oil fouled to begin with. Probably run with too much oil or bad quality 2-cycle mix...

My old er185 suzuki 2stroke bike i had, id pull the plug, pour straight petrol without 2 stroke, light it up burn oil off then install. Worked every time
